Mother Theresa to be named Roman Catholic Saint, says Vatican

Nobel laureate, late Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who dedicated her life to helping the poor, will be made a saint of the Roman Catholic Church in September 2016 after the Catholic Pope recognized her for her intercessory role in the cure of a man with multiple brain tumours.Mother Teresa, who died in 1997 at the age of 87 and was known as the "saint of the gutters", is expected to be canonised in early September 2016.It's not clear if the ceremony would take place in Rome or India. Teresa, who was born to Albanian parents in Skopje in Macedonia, and known across the world for her charity work, was beatified the first step towards sainthood in 2003.

Man kills his two young kids, stabs his wife, then commits suicide

On Wednesday night, Dec 16, Tsepo Majola, 22, killed 2 two children, Boitumelo, 2, and her brother, Tebogo Khumbuleni,5, by cutting their throats at his home in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, South Africa.His body was found at the back of a house in Tembisa on Johannesburg’s East Rand, on Thursday, police said. Police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said a relative found the man’s body lying at the back of a house in Phomolong in Tembisa. He had apparently committed suicide.Earlier, police said the man arrived at his house in Phomolong on Wednesday evening and took his two children inside where he allegedly slit their throats with a knife. Three staff of online retail outlet, Konga today appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing 500 units of Infinix Hot2 mobile phone valued at N9.6 million, according to a report by Vanguard.The men; Ibrahim Maradesa, Oluwatoyin Salau and Jerry Idenudia are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.The Prosecutor, Inspector Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 4, at about 6:00p.m. They allegedly stole 500 units of Infinix Hot2 16 GB12 valued at N9.6 million, which happens to be the property of Konga online retailer.According to him, the accused, who are drivers with the company, diverted a truck loaded with the items to an undisclosed destination. Court orders traffic offenders to forfeit vehicles to Lagos government

Father of 2 slumps and dies while queuing for fuel in Abuja

A commercial motorcyclist simply identified as Ishaya slumped and died while on a queue at the NNPC petrol station in Kubwa, Abuja yesterday December 17th. Eyewitnesses say the father of two had been standing for hours and it was almost about to get to his turn to buy fuel when he slumped. It is believed he slumped due to exhaustion. He was rushed to the Kubwa General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
