By popular demand, we are rounding off all of our favorite dog products for Nora and Fuji. The food they eat, treats, toys (quite minimal frankly, they don’t really play with toys much), collars, coats, and more. If I’ve left out anything you’re curious about, let me know in the comments!
Food & Treats
Eat: Instinct Raw Frozen Bites and Stella & Chewy’s Raw Coated Kibble (Duck or Lamb) – Nora and Fuji don’t seem to have any real food sensitivity, but they’re generally best for ducks or lambs. They love Stella & Chewy’s Raw Coated Kibble, the pieces are smaller which Nora likes, and I get through them with Instinct Raw which they’re both obsessed with.
Treats: Vena CBD Soft Chews, Crumps Naturals Sweet Potato Chews (for your information, these are tough), Merrick Power Bites (these are nice and soft and great for training).
additions: Excel K9, Dasuquin – The Excel K9 is expensive but we’ve been using it for years and there’s a noticeable difference to Nora when we go out (she’s slower and stiffer). It’s also good for their skin and fur. Nora gets dasuquin twice a day for joint health and Fuji gets it once a day.
Collars & Coats
Wolfgang Man & Beast Collars: These collars and leashes are great quality, lightweight, and come in tons of cool designs. They are easy to clean and super durable. Also made in the USA.
Coats: Fuji doesn’t really need a coat, but when it’s really cold we usually put one over Nora. She’s got this fleece from LL Bean. Heard great things about Ruffwear and ordered this winter coat for Nora and Fuji too.
Beds and blankets
Design Dua Basket Bed: You have probably seen a photo or video of Nora & Fuji sleeping in their Design Dua Basket Bed. I even got a second one and most of the time they squeeze into one. I have a large bed that fits one of them comfortably (Nora is about 45 pounds and Fuji is 70 pounds) but somehow both of them manage to fit in one bed. I just ordered this vintage indigo bed from LL Bean for our bedroom because they don’t always like to sleep in the wicker beds at night.
Chappy Wrap: These blankets are great as throws for furniture. They are super soft, incredibly durable, and of great quality. They are also easy to wash. We have the herringbone and the oyster bay.
Bathing & cleaning
DentAcetic Dental Wipes: These were recommended by our veterinarian’s dental hygienist. You should be using them daily which I don’t but I try to use them weekly to stay on their teeth and they definitely help.
Douxo Chlorhexidine Shampoo: This is expensive for a shampoo, but it works. If your dog has any skin problems this shampoo is amazing. Most of the time we just flush the dogs with water, but at certain times of the year Fuji gets really bad hives from allergies to certain grasses. A few baths of this shampoo will usually resolve it instantly. It treats itchy skin, keeping it hydrated and protecting the skin barrier. You don’t have to buy them from the vet.
Dog Brush: I’m not sure this is exactly what we have, but it’s pretty close.
Chom Chom Lint Roller: Nothing beats the Chom Chom when it comes to removing hair from furniture. I tell every pet owner about it and everyone who gets it agrees that it is the best thing ever.
Musher’s Paw Wax: This stuff is amazing all year round for protecting your paws from sand, salt, hot pavement, etc.
Furbo Dog Camera – I love the Furbo because it’s so easy to move around the house. Depending on where I leave them when we’re on the road, I can just put the Furbo in this room. I can check them out using the app on my phone and I love the treat tossing feature.
Chuckit! Rubber ball: Fuji is obsessed with these rubber balls. They also have a good jump so you can throw them pretty far when he pulls them back. Nora is not a big retriever, but she does enjoy chewing on it occasionally.
Muscle Plush Squeaker Toy: We have the reindeer version of this toy, I think my mom gave it to them for Christmas and it’s still attached to it. Nora isn’t a toy destroyer, but Fuji is and this toy managed to survive. Needless to say, I recommend.
Flea and tick / heartworm
Interceptor: heartworm prevention prescribed by our veterinarian.
Simparica: Flea and Tick Prevention. We live in a very tick-infested area. This type of flea and tick prevention is essential. It is prescribed by our veterinarian.
