Singapore’s first inland “theme park” playground has officially opened!
Inspired by the famous kids’ classic “Alice in Wonderland”, the WonderLand playground (capital “L” is intentional) is located in the HDB cluster of Dawson Vista, Queenstown … which means it’s FREE for everyone!
And kids are sure to get madly happy in this whimsical outdoor playground.
From swinging under the magical tree to starting a mushroom adventure, children can immerse themselves in a magical wonderland just like in the story!
When entering the playground for the first time, there are two doors at the entrance – one for adults and a smaller one for children.
And because a playground is intended for children of all ages to play in a common area, the WonderLand playground offers play equipment for younger and older children.
Children aged 2 to 5 can laugh at their own reflections on the twiddle-dee and twiddle-dum twins’ funny mirrors.
And because all children like to jump around, there is also a trampoline in the shape of a giant clock.
The fun for the little ones is rounded off by this colorful rocker.
For the older children, more exciting game challenges await you.
There are two Masive play structures on each side of the playground. The larger mushroom adventure on the left allows kids to climb up over a multi-colored and tiered structure.
Once up, they have to drive over a rope bridge …
… to reach the other side of the structure and enjoy a quick descent down the orange tube slide!
Oh, and kids can’t miss the giant Cheshire cat – no grin here – that rests on the structure too. And while you’re at it, you can also ride on the swings of the ‘Swaying Wheels’.
In the other structure on the right, kids can choose really well-known characters and objects from the Alice in Wonderland History. Can you see the mad hatter’s hat and teapot?
But beyond that, it hides a different climbing structure!
I love how the traditional play equipment like slides, seesaw, climbing platforms and trampoline has been integrated into the whimsical Alice in Wonderland-themed design.
Thanks to the internet, children are becoming more demanding and demanding these days. Hence, it is time that today’s outdoor playgrounds were updated to keep the little minds busy.
Because sometimes there is nothing better than encouraging imaginative role play by bringing just a little bit of that magic to the kids’ minds.
