The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has begun recruitment into the Federal Teachers’ Scheme (FTS) for the 2020 and 2021 periods.
Ossom Ossom, UBEC PR officer, confirmed this to the Nigeria News Agency (NAN) on Monday.
The AGVS intervention program was launched in 2006 by the federal government to help states address the teacher shortage at the level of basic education.
The prerequisites for application are a bachelor’s degree in education or a bachelor’s degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
The qualification should not be lower than a second class (lower division) and should not be acquired before 2014.
Applicants are expected to have completed or exempted from the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC).
Eligible are persons with a Nigeria Certificate for Education (NCE), credit cards in classroom practice, and classes that were not acquired before 2014.
The applicant should specialize in: English Language, Maths, Integrated Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agricultural Sciences.
Others are home economics, computer science, technical / technological education, computer science or information technology, Nigerian languages, physical education and health education.
Applicants should be no older than 35 and not currently employed or enrolled on NYSC, N-Power, or any similar program.
They are expected to fill out the application forms online at https: //fts.admissions.clouds
“Applicants must also upload their credentials with their latest passport photos. The application portal would be open for two weeks without renewal from September 10th to September 24th, ”said UBEC.
Shortlisted candidates will be admitted to computer-based testing (CBT) at designated centers in each state capital on October 10th.
