If you are unaware of the growing trends in video content, you might be surprised to know 85% of US internet consumers Watch videos from their personal devices every month.

By 2022, it is estimated that 82% of the world’s internet traffic will be from downloading and streaming videos. Of course, all entrepreneurs should take advantage of this growth while it is still improving. And best of all, you don’t have to be a video content guru to create engaging videos.

As a freelancer, videography and video editing are important skills that can take your freelance career to a whole new level. And since you’re already into areas like social media, web design, and graphic design, you can easily incorporate video content to maximize your reach and increase your income with new customers.

As I said, videography and video editing don’t have to be complicated tasks. Using tools like Final Cut Pro X for video editing, you can create great videos for a variety of platforms that will increase your success as a freelancer.

Here’s what you need to know:

What is Final Cut Pro X for Video Editing?

If you’ve owned an iPhone, iPad, or Macbook, you’ve probably heard of iMovie, haven’t you?

iMovie is the standard video editing application that comes pre-installed on most Apple devices, so you can easily edit videos for various occasions. Think of iMovie as the ABC version of video editing that is easy for everyday use. On the other hand, we have Final Cut Pro X (FCPX). FCPX was also developed by Apple and is simply an advanced version of iMovie that allows for more detailed video editing capabilities as well as additional tools that can really make your videos pop, such as: B. Color Corrections (adjusting the light and colors of the footage). Enhancing audio, adding filters to footage, and working with a variety of file formats.

You might immediately think, “Why should I need something more advanced than iMovie?” The problem is that as you improve your skills with video content, you want an application that will evolve with you and not limit your creativity. In addition, FCPX uses many of the same commands and features as iMovie, which gives you a familiar feeling of operation and still adds great value to your creative projects.

There might be a bit of a learning curve for FCPX at first, but there are tons of instructional videos on YouTube that you can watch to help you learn the basics. Here is one I think this does a great job of explaining how to start editing videos. Once you’ve lost your FCPX skills, now is the time to put your videography skills to the test.

3 things freelancers can do with video content right now

Now you have a better understanding of FCPX and how it works– and provided you have a smartphone or video camera for filming– Freelancers can do three things with video content to instantly improve their business:

1. Create a video introduction to your Fiverr profile

Did you know that in addition to your gig packages for Fiverr, you can also upload a short video to showcase your offers and entice buyers to hire you?

These don’t have to be long, drawn-out videos, but you can easily create a 1-2 minute roll that breaks down who you are and what kind of services you can offer a client. You can even use your new video editing skills to get creative and really show off your personality. FCPX has tons of engaging text and filters to add to your video, and you can also add music and voice-over to really make your gig packages shine.

2. Add videos to your company page on Facebook

Another cool idea for your newfound video skills is adding a header video to your freelancer Business page on Facebook.

Facebook has over 2.4 billion active users on its platform every month. Additionally, over 90 million small businesses use Facebook to market their services and reach new audiences around the world. That said, your freelance services are definitely something to be promoting, and a video can really get people excited right from the start!

If you’re a freelance writer, put together a 30-second montage of writing in a coffee shop, typing at home, and making a cup of coffee. anything that expresses your creativity and work ethic. If you’re a podcaster or audio technician, upload a 30-second intro video of you speaking in front of the microphone and provide a breakdown of your services and prices.

All you need is something short and sweet to connect with customers the moment they visit your page– Video is a great way to break the ice and add value to customers without them having to think about it.

3. Start a YouTube channel for your freelance business

As soon as you get into a rhythm with the creation of video content, you can access it regularly a YouTube channel for your freelance business.

This may sound like a daunting task at first, but all you have to do is be consistent with your videos. For example, stick to recording, editing, and uploading a video every week or two. And you can focus on content that adds value to viewers– Things that your customers often need help with or can learn from to improve their business based on your expertise. As with me, I am primarily a freelance writer. My videos are all about how customers can blog post in 5 easy steps. Or I can check the basics of SEO and find out how its content can rank better in search engines.

Overall, these are simple concepts that I can break down in a 10-minute explanatory video and then offer them for free on my YouTube channel. Not to mention that once I already have a stash of video content I can use those videos to improve my services for more customers in the future.

No matter what freelance profession you are in, it’s easy to tailor your video content strategy to suit your services and let customers know that you are a professional to hire.

Hire a video editor from Fiverr

Once again, implementing these video content ideas is all about applying the right video editing skills. However, if you are not a video savvy person, you can always do so Hire a video editor on Fiverr to do it for you!

All you have to do is film yourself and then send your clips to a skilled editor who can put your videos together at an affordable price. You can click here to explore a variety of video editors on the network and find one that suits your style!
