Sola Sobowale marriage
Mummy Sola is married to Oludotun Sobowale, who was previously managing director of the EKO hospital before moving to England. The couple have five children together.
She talked about her children who went to school abroad.
When the teens were young and growing, Sola took an extended break from Nollywood to take care of her children. She and her husband moved them from Nigeria to England.
When asked why she did all of this, she gave the answer:
I love nigeria. Nigeria is the largest country in the whole world. I don’t know why people in Nigeria don’t want to measure.
I took my children to the best schools because education is the only legacy you will leave your children. However, I traveled to the UK over twenty years ago and the reason is simple; Mo lo tunojo ale mi seni (I went to prepare for my future).
I’ve paid on the verge of 1,000,000 naira per semester for 3 children here, but as soon as I hear some graduates speak in Nigeria, their grammatical mistakes make my heart sad. This often comes in addition to the fact that children study a four-year course for seven years thanks to the regular strikes.
So I took her abroad and came home to continue my career, but I always kept an eye on the youngsters. That’s why I don’t do cell phones. I do landline. That’s just because motherhood goes beyond having children.
A mother needs to do a job that gives her time to show family values. When I landline I know what time my kids wake up in the morning, when they go to school, and when they close at college. I call you on the landline and you have to select it. Over time, I realized that that wasn’t enough. One faithful day I decided to visit her in England and watch her very closely. So I said to myself that fame and all of these celebrities have to be put aside first.
Now they have successfully completed. Mission accomplished, I can go back to work now, which is why I’m here. I left Nollywood to take good care of my children. Children are not asked to change status. When you have them, you’ll want to keep an eye out for them. I couldn’t do two things at the same time, which meant I knew it was a difficult task to face both my career and my responsibilities as a mother. So I had to sacrifice one for the opposite. I even have five children so I had to take care of them. I left Nigeria for England because I wanted the best for my children in terms of education. Today I have an accountant, an advertising professional, a management expert and an engineer. It is really amazing.
