I’ve been thinking about how we’re going to do Halloween differently this year. Masks are pretty straightforward for a holiday where there are already costumes in place, and I think we’ll deal with treats by handing out individually wrapped candy. But I also wanted a way for the girls to bond with their friends, and then I thought of Halloween surprise cupcakes.

You know I love party sprinkles so any excuse to play with them is a happy day for me. Check out these posts for more ideas:

I thought the girls would enjoy simply bringing frozen cupcakes to their friends along with a mini test tube of sprinkles. This way her friends could decorate their own cupcakes. This project couldn’t be easier and your kids can help you put the gift sets together.
1 – Make your own sprinkle mix by buying a variety of Halloween sprinkles and combining them with little eyeball candies.

Pour 2 – spoons of litter into the test tubes.

Our customized mixes contain:
- Sweet corn colors + eyeballs
- Black, Green, and Purple Jimmies + Eyeballs
- Orange and black + ghosts + orange nonpareils

3 – Add cute cupcake liners to your cupcakes. Assemble your cupcake boxes and put cupcakes in the boxes.

4 – Wrap the box with string and tie the label tight.

5 – Drop off cupcakes on your friends’ doorstep. Ring the doorbell, then retire and visit from a safe distance.

6 – I didn’t think of it, but it would be fun to add a unique hashtag to your gift tags so your friends can share their decorated cupcakes on Instagram.
If you try this I would love to see your photos! Tag me on Instagram with @thepartyteacher.

Happy (early) Halloween!
PS Of course we couldn’t resist decorating our own cupcakes. You will see that you can decorate two cupcakes from each test tube with sprinkles.
