Tinuiti is setting up Flexible Fridays and monthly PTO days for mental health through 2020 : E-COMMERCE MARKETING

Tinuiti has always been based on a people-first philosophy. While all employees enjoy unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO), the People team found that not nearly enough Tinuitians are using this policy when they need to during those times. COVID-19 has disrupted the lives of all people to varying degrees, and Mother Nature has not helped with hurricanes and forest fires. That is why Tinuiti is taking steps to improve the physical and mental well-being of all employees across the country.

The hustle and bustle of agency life mixed with life in a pandemic is a real problem – one that the Tinuiti leadership team is looking to alleviate. Since the introduction of work-from-home mandates in March, every employee has been required to take two days of mental health PTO each month so everyone feels more empowered to prioritize their physical and emotional wellbeing. This policy will be extended for the remainder of 2020.

In addition, Tinuiti closed its offices every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day at 1:00 p.m. In order to reduce the pressures and stressors associated with the pandemic, a version of this policy was extended until the end of the year Flexible on Fridays. While this doesn’t necessarily mean a hard stop at 1:00 p.m., the idea is to work a shorter day on Fridays at Tinuiti’s most economically sensible hours in order to still meet customer needs, with the aim of better balancing work and life bring to . Leadership aims to create the conditions that allow every Tinuitian to have at least 2-3 flexible Fridays per month.

“We know that this is a very stressful time for everyone together. It is therefore more important than ever that our employees take time for themselves, set limits and cut ties. ” said Jen Garrison, chief people officer at Tinuiti. “More importantly, some of our employees have situations at home where a day off is more stressful than relaxing. That is why we made sure the managers are equipped to help their team find the balance and support them in a way that works for their specific situation. ”

While the PTO is important and helpful, Tinuiti also understands that parents working from home with children face more challenges than ever before. Tinuiti is working on developing new fall parenting programs to identify and support working parents in these new circumstances. It has been said many times lately that “we are all together” but Tinuiti is really committed to looking after all employees as they are all an integral part of the company’s flywheel.

The culture of ownership at Tinuiti encourages every employee to treat the company like an owner, which in turn ensures the best service for their customers in class. These changes were necessary so that everyone in the agency could contribute at the highest level. While some of the company’s traditional perks, perks, and social activities don’t make sense in today’s landscape, Tinuiti’s executives continue to ask and actively listen to more than 600 employees about what they need to do to make their jobs and lives more balanced.
