~ Two of my favorite things to do are knitting and reading and I love to share my projects and current readings here. I would love if you join me every month and share what you knit (or crochet) and read too! Sorry to post late again! I rescheduled myself yesterday and was completely wiped out after a dentist’s appointment and a mammogram. This was our first week everyone was back home teaching. So it’s been a bit hectic and I’m exhausted. We’re trying to figure out schedules and times that anyone can have a computer if needed. I spent my weekend free time creating daily checklists for my four oldest children and completely neglected the meal plan, which added to the stress that week. I just don’t have the skills to “spur” it in the kitchen. I need to be really disciplined and keep track of meal planning in the future because it really stinks to get through everyone’s class only to realize I have no idea what we have for dinner.
I to have I’ve read and knitted – can’t neglect these two or I’ll go mad, even if my knitting doesn’t matter much lately. I’ve finished reading Growth of the soil. I liked it but I didn’t love it. My expectations were high, which probably contributed to my feelings. It was good and I really enjoyed reading it, but it won’t stay the way many of my favorite books have done. I also read Murder on the Orient Express in August. I liked that very much! It’s only the second Agatha Christie I’ve read, but I think I’ll read more. I haven’t read many secrets as an adult, but I guess I just have to find the right ones. I don’t want anything with too much excitement. I enjoyed The woman in white by Wilkie Collins, but that’s the only mystery I can remember reading it over the past decade And then there weren’t any. I am reading now Sense and sensitivity. Sometimes I just have to read something lovely.
Giuseppe (my kitten) left me mostly in favor of Seth and his room, but he magically appears every time I pull out my knitting. I started a new project a few days ago, a heartwood cape. It was almost impossible and I finally had to lock Giuseppe out of my bedroom. I knitted this cape for Beatrix years ago and always planned to knit another. I’m still working on mine Antarctic Also a scarf nearing completion but adding extra rows to use up more of my yarn.
