The federal government has instructed the National Youth Service Corps to make preparations for the nationwide reopening of its orientation camps.
This was announced on Thursday September 4, 2020, to the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu, announced during a briefing at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.
Aliyu said the task force was in the process of developing “strict guidelines” to forestall the outbreak of infection as NYSC warehouses reopen
“For the National Youth Service Corps, the NYSC is expected to consolidate current security measures and prepare to reopen orientation camps when educational facilities open.
“We are in the process of developing strict guidelines to ensure that Covid-19 does not break out early in this process,” he said.
He also stated that the PTF is taking precautions to ensure that the private sector is allowed to determine the number of employees who will work, but in a safe environment; Only level 12 and higher are allowed to work in the public sector.
Orientation camps across the country have been closed since March to help contain the spread of coronavirus disease.
