Really, if you’re looking for free ways to relax deeply, you really don’t have to look very far. Here are 5 things I did this week that were deeply relaxing but didn’t involve expensive manicure spas or vacations in the sun!
5 free ways to relax deeply
I’ve danced – my daughter and I are learning to line dance and it takes intense focus. When I dance, I can’t worry about tomorrow or about yesterday, I have to be absolutely present in the now. It is very healing to dance.
I played – I played chess and Dobble and Mario carts with my kids and we laughed so much. I found it deeply relaxing, despite the frenzy on the racetrack. Just switching off and hanging out is so important.
I’ve talked – I’ve had long conversations with my best friends several times this week, and this connection heard by someone who loves you is deeply comforting
I did my Tai Chi – my new hobby that I love so much that I don’t get a degree in it. It is so good to help you feel zen. I’m just using a free youtube video
I’ve baked bread this week – oh, the smell and taste and the beating – it releases so much tension – bread baking is such a daunting thing. I am including this as an activity for kids in my new book Create Your Own Calm because I know from experience how much they love it too. (jus 2 weeks until my book is published I’m so excited – you can pre-order Here)
So yes a full and relaxing week at home for me at no cost. How was your week?
