These colors will be dominated by the DLB in 2021 Interior Design

In design, color plays an important role as a mood creator. This year we learned the importance of having the right color palette in an interior. Spending a lot of time indoors will highlight the shades that really positively affect our mood, and this seems like the direction that paint makers and flavor makers are trying to go.

“This has been a year of unpredictability, and 2020 has changed our relationship with our home significantly. When our color team began exploring a palette for the coming year, we knew it had to be based on what we longed for: convenience and personalization, ”says Erika Woelfel, Vice President for Color at Behr. Meet 4 color collections that, according to Behr 2021, convey a feeling of peace and comfort and “increase your comfort zone”.

“Light, warm neutrals and whites create an inviting feeling in entrances, kitchens and open living spaces,” says Behr. A light pink or brown shade will make your interior more welcoming and create a relaxing space for you and your family. It is also a great backdrop for decorating ideas and will bring warmth to your home. In this color collection, “light and cozy neutrals offer an updated version of the casual farmhouse look that can be achieved with warm colors”, according to the Behr team.

As you can read on Behr’s website, “light shades feel refined and inviting, and create an atmosphere that is effortlessly calm.” This palette reflects light from every season and brings calm to your home. Tinted pastel colors in colors such as Wishful Green or Cellini Gold set cheeky accents and give you more space to play with your decoration ideas. These softer hues are “inspired by modern versions of Art Deco design and style.”

“With expressive dark colors like Broadway, Nocturne Blue, Royal Orchard and Barnwood Gray, it’s easy to make a statement,” we read on Behr’s website. Dark colors are bold when used indoors and the effect they create can be very noticeable. This palette of darker hues has just the right reserve so that it doesn’t upset the balance of your home. Quiet Haven shows us that “deep hues have a calming sublime and reliable nature and create the effect of a peaceful oasis in your home.”
