I’ve always known that using a pillow with a silk or silk-like fabric for the pillow case is good for your skin. Cotton pillowcases can cause friction and “sleep wrinkles” on our skin while we sleep, so we have a smooth surface on which to weigh our heads and will help eliminate this. However, there wasn’t a silky pillowcase when I had problems ~ I have a lot of these. My problems are due to the fact that I am a throwback to sleep apnea and dizziness. Wearing a CPAP machine at night makes it difficult to find a decent position.

Sleep & Glow sent me her pillow, which not only has a silky pillowcase, but the actual shape design was developed together with orthopedists, beauticians and sleep specialists so that I have the correct posture while sleeping. This pillow is patented in the USA, EU and Japan and is designed and handcrafted in Europe with the highest standards and European safety-tested fabrics and materials.
The standard pillowcase that comes with the pillow is made from 100% natural Tencel, although a 100% silk pillowcase is sold separately. Tencel is a sustainable material, environmentally friendly and made from eucalyptus fibers. Tencel has many advantages
- softer than silk and skin-friendly
- More absorbent than cotton, moisture control, reduces bacterial growth
- Naturally antimicrobial, so it resists dust mites, bacteria and other allergens
- easy to machine wash and hang to dry
I spilled some cranberry juice on the pillowcase and thought, oh no, this is going to stain. No it didn’t ~ I threw myself in the washing machine and the stain came out beautifully! You have to air dry it, but the fabric dries quickly and you can also use a steam iron if you want. I like that it has a back zipper so the pillowcase doesn’t fall off the pillow ~ lots of silky pillowcases slip and slide right off the pillow so I like how safe it is.

The second point is the pillow core, which is made from 100% memory foam, an adaptive form of polyurethane that contains silver ions. This material was originally created by NASA for astronauts in space travel. The memory foam adapts to your head, neck and back while you sleep.
The pillow has a cradle for your head in the middle of the pillow that will help you sleep more on your back. You should make sure that the pillow is in the correct position as well – it has two pillows, one with a thicker and larger pillow that sits over your head. The smaller and thinner pad is under your neck. There are also side cradles that prevent your skin from being bruised and smoked on its side when you sleep, which also helps prevent sleeping lines and puffiness. The shape of the pillow gives your neck, spine and body the best and healthiest position to sleep. Best of all, if you’re a thrower and turner like me at night, the soft memory foam and pillow shape allow me to comfortably switch positions all night.

Both the silky Tencel pillowcase and the ergonomically correct 3D pillow core help to minimize the so-called “sleep folds”. There are two types of wrinkles, expression lines, and then there are those that are caused by squeezing and squeezing your face into your pillow every night over time. Your skin will stretch, causing wrinkles, pits, and puffiness from all of this pulling and rubbing.
Sleep lines are usually temporary, but can actually worsen existing expression lines due to the location and normal wrinkling of the expression lines. Sleep folds are usually vertical, but around sensitive areas, like the skin around your eyes, they can be horizontal. Sleep lines and wrinkles usually go away as soon as you wake up and your skin bounces back, but just like everything else, at some point they don’t go away and are permanent. When I look at my face in the mirror, I know I have sleeping lines around the corners of my mouth.
The silky feel of the Tencel pillowcase reduces friction, but it can’t reduce the weight of your head on a pillow, which is what causes all of the blushing and leads to skin pucker and sagging lines. Of course, the best way to sleep is on your back, face up, but most of us don’t sleep like that ~ I love sleeping on my side and I also have a CPAP machine with nasal pillows, which it really is making it difficult to find a comfortable position.
The side cradles of this pillow allow me to position my face so that my cheekbones rest on the top of the cradle and the rest of my face lies in a lower cradle. This unique side cradle design supports my head but does not cause my skin to be pinched and twisted. The best part is that it can also accommodate the headgear and tubing of my CPAP machine.
What I noticed after using my Sleep & Glow pillow for a month
I have to say that this is one of the best pillows I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot. Bad and old pillows cause tension headaches, fatigue and insomnia. I sleep better, that’s for sure. The different heights in the cradles allow me to get into a comfortable sleeping position without deforming my body. This gives my spine the opportunity to relax while sleeping. I noticed that my face wasn’t plagued with morning puffiness, nor did I notice as many morning wrinkles. I hope that in the long term I can fight the sleep lines and slow their progression!
Oh, and another perk for those of you who have eyelash extensions, the side brackets provide minimal contact with the surface of the pillow, which can extend the life of your extensions.
This pillow is expensive but will last for five years, unlike regular pillows that need to be replaced every 1 to 2 years. The Omina pillow with a Tencel pillowcase is $ 165.00 USD and you can use my promo code from MICHELE10 for $ 10.00 off that price! This has a 30 day money back guarantee with free shipping to the US on orders over $ 180.00. You also get a 3 year warranty on your pillow. In fact, I’ll be ordering another one because I love this pillow very much and would like to have two of them.
