USCIS FINDING MONEY. NO FURLOUGHS IN FY 2020. Us Immigration

USCIS announced that it doesn’t have to employ 13,000 people, which is roughly two-thirds of its workforce. The vacation days should start on August 30, 2020.
The agency cited “unprecedented spending cuts and a steady increase in daily income” as the reason for the vacation recession. USCIS initially expected the vacation days to start earlier in summer. These have been postponed to August 30th. They were now further averted.

Joseph Edlow, USCIS Assistant Director of Policy, warned, “Avoiding this vacation comes with significant operating costs that add backlog and wait across the board, with no guarantee that we will avoid future vacation days. A return to normal operations requires Congress intervention to keep the agency up and running through fiscal 2021. “
