Well, it’s been an interesting half year, hasn’t it? Thankfully, our Tourism Vacation Travel division is reopening across the country and especially in the fabulous venues of Stanford Village and the surrounding area.
Hands up, who is looking forward to finally being able to travel again and book accommodation for leisure, in accordance with the latest intra-provincial level 3 travel permits?
Winter is the ideal time to plan a Stanford getaway. The area is a gem on the Cape Whale Coast. Just a 1.5 hour drive from the bustling city center of Cape Town. Think of crisp days hiking, walking or biking with mountain ranges of fynbos in bloom, whale watching our ocean at local whale watching locations, or booking a river activity like paddling or picnicking by the river. Our local restaurants will fill your stomach and are filled with soft drinks as the sale of alcohol while consuming is still not allowed. Of course, there is always the opportunity to curl up in a cozy corner with a good book and an evening by the warm fire. You might just be missing a glass or two from one of our local estates along the Stanford Wine Route.
However, if your cellar needs to be topped up after a few months of blocking, we will be happy to inform you that our wine route is open for orders and tastings. Details about the wine route here. Take the opportunity to take advantage of some current local specials and exclusive releases available to order right now.

There is so much to enjoy inside and out at this time of year that it’s worth setting aside the whole weekend … or maybe even an extra day on both sides to get the most out of the visit and fit in as much as possible possible.
If you need any help with what’s open and where to stay, our Stanford Tourism Office is always ready to help.
