My Scandinavian home: Malene and Jeppes Pastel Copenhagen Home Interior Design

A few weeks ago Denmark announced that residents of the Swedish county of Skåne can return over the bridge! I honestly danced a bit. Oh how I missed my trips to Copenhagen! Until I manage to make the trip, I will continue to fill up with fabulous Danish design from the homes of creatives across Denmark – I hope you come to me! Let’s take a virtual tour of Jeppe’s fabulous house today, Malene and her two small children Hugo and Sonja. The family lives in a 200 m2 apartment in Vesterbro, a trendy area in the Danish capital. Malene works as a production manager for the painfully cool Danish clothing brand ENVII (Check out @envii_official) and Jeppe is a carpenter. The latter are practical for their house renovations – which they do all by themselves. Welcome to a world full of pastel colors, prints and lots of dots!

“It is important for us that it feels warm and cozy in our home. We love having friends and family with us – and we want to make sure that furniture and styling don’t feel too strict or ‘chic’ – that you have to feel people live here “- Malene.

The wall of the dining room was painted in aloe vera Dyrup and a number by Hans J. Wegner Wishbones * were arranged around the table.

Malene picked up the little stool Søstrene Grene and painted the legs purple to match the pillows.

In the master bedroom, Malene has combined beige ‘Cuppa Coffee’ color from Dyrup with pink accents (including sustainable bedding JUNA design). The wall-mounted bedside table was handmade by Trævarefabrikernes and the wall lamp and the stool are from IKEA.

“I love pastel colors and fall in love every time I see something pink or spotty!” – Malene.

Such a nice home! I especially like the pastel colors, they are fun and calm down at the same time.

Is there anything you noticed about Jeppes and Malenes’ home?

We are currently jumping on the Swedish west coast, sailing, swimming, crabbing and enjoying everything that Swedish summer has to offer (even if it could be a few degrees warmer and not as rainy as it is today) – BAAAH !!). I have promised my small family to take time off next week as we conquer this wonderful area together to create a guide to our favorite islands when we return. I hope you feel inspired to visit once a day!

In the meantime, you might want to explore the archives, which contain thousands of beautiful Scandi-inspired homes – here are some of my favorite categories:

Have a wonderful week of friends, I hope the sun is shining for you (and come back here !!).

See you on Monday, August 3rd.
