The riots like this one in New York are the best example of “white privileges”. Although this term “white privilege” has a fairly fluid meaning, this is not my argument, but the point of this passionate young black woman who lives in NYC. Listen to what she has to say after her neighborhood has been destroyed and I think you will agree.
The riots are dominated by privileged NYU white students and white progressives who come to mostly non-white communities to destroy their businesses, transportation, and public services. Why? In this way, these privileged people can return to their electricity, their safety and the comfort of their home and feel that they have done something good. In the name of “justice”, the privileged white rioters harm the most vulnerable. They have become exactly what you claim to hate. If your goal is justice, you must resist violence.
