FG turns around, provides guidelines for the reopening of schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic – amazingreveal.com : Nigerian Education

The Nigerian federal government has issued guidelines for the reopening of schools before the planned readmission in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The measures, measures and requirements outlined by Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu and Minister of State (Education) Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, released on Monday, necessary for the safe reopening of schools after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The federal government has outlined the safe distance measures in the new guidelines and has also demanded that learners in schools and other learning institutions must be supported in staying two meters apart.

However, the government did not announce a date for school resumption.

The document states: “There are exceptions, however, in which the two-meter rule cannot be applied appropriately and other strategies for risk reduction can be used. Examples are early years, younger primary school children and those with additional needs.

It must be carried out in the best interests of learners, teachers and other educational staff. The scenarios require the organization of learners and children in small groups with consistent membership and adherence to risk reduction strategies. Membership in these groups should not change unless the NCDC Public Health Policy suggests otherwise. “

This happened days after the Nigerian government’s decision to suspend the reopening of schools across the country was supported by education commissioners in the 19 northern states.

The government had previously announced the reopening of schools across the country.

However, Education Minister Adamu Adamu later announced that the previous decision to reopen schools was suspended due to the continuing increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
