The Kogi state government has passed a bill to create a new university in the state.
When Kingsley Fanwo, the state’s commissioner for information and communication, announced this on Thursday, July 9, 2020, he stated that the approved facility was named “Confluence University of Science and Technology” in Osara, Adavi Local government.
The commissioner said that the college’s admission aims to train workers in science courses to feed the available industries in the state.
He said focusing on science and technology-based courses would take Kogi to the next level of industrial development.
“Given the state of the state and the abundance of natural resources throughout the state, it is important for the state of Kogi to have a university that educates and nourishes the state’s industry, particularly the huge steel industry in Ajaokuta after many decades of abandonment “, he said.
Fanwo added that the draft law establishing the university will be forwarded to the State House of Assembly by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.
He called on the residents of the state to give more support to the incumbent government of Governor Yahaya Bello.
