Yesterday, the US Supreme Court reviewed in Uzuegbunam v. Preczwski, (File number 19-968, Certiorari issued on July 9th, 2020). (Order list). The case arises from a language policy challenge at Georgia Gwinnett College that prevented a student from spreading religious literature on campus. As a result, the school changed its guidelines. The United States Court of Appeals 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the change challenged the plaintiff’s claim for nominal damages. (Full text the 11th Circuit Opinion.) The applicants contest this conclusion. ADF issued a Press release on granting the review.
