AIFS wins GoAbroad Award for innovation in alumni engagement Study Abroad

Exciting news! Our “Navigating Uncertainty: Resources to Carefully Manage Your Time Abroad and Your Return” A guide was named a 2020 GoAbroad award winners for the category innovation in alumni engagement!

AIFS recognized that a semester abroad interrupted by the global pandemic COVID-19 was an extremely difficult challenge for many foreign students and wanted to offer support to our future alumni. Navigating various bureaucratic environments, quarantines, isolations, and general unknowns can be very scary and overwhelming. For this reason, the workbook and the navigation uncertainty guide were created to provide our alumni with the tools to unpack the emotions behind their return. It also provided alumni with resources to assist them in the weeks and months after their arrival at home. Students were given the opportunity to contact AIFS Study Abroad staff to think and discuss about returning under these circumstances and to share the lessons learned from their experience.

A very special thanks goes to Go abroad for this award and for the recognition of our initiative! We are always proud to support our students both during and after studying abroad.
