The government of the State of Lagos has announced that it will reopen schools for students in “transition classes”.
State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who made the broadcast live, directed Basic Six, JSS 3, and SS3 students to resume on August 3, 2020.
He said: “This year # COVID19 disrupted our businesses and schools. We have some important news for our students in SSS3 and TEC3.
“In accordance with the updated Presidential Task Force guidelines on # COVID19, they will resume on August 3 to prepare for mandatory public exams.
“This resumption is closely monitored and must comply with government policies and protocols for public health. The reopening permit only applies to day schools. Boarding activities are excluded.
“Instructions for JSS3 will come soon as we continue to consult. Students in the sixth elementary school are assessed based on their Continuous Assessment (CA), which has already been recorded, in order to transfer to secondary schools.
“We want our universities to continue their online academic activities that are in various advanced stages.”
