“But be a doer of the word and not just listeners and be deceived. Because if someone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who watches his natural face in the mirror; because he watches himself, goes away and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But whoever looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues in it and is not a forgetful listener, but a perpetrator of work, will be blessed in what he does. “ James 1: 22-25
James describes a person who hears the word but does not practice it. He says you’re like someone who wakes up in the morning and sees his beard grow out, his hair disheveled, pockets under his eyes and soup on his mustache from last night!
