Rubicon Project was renamed Magnite this week. Rubicon Project says Magnite is “the world’s largest independent sell-side platform for every channel and format”.
Last year, Rubicon Project and Telaria announced a merger to capture Connected TV’s growth. The name change was expected for both companies, which are now merged.
Before the merger last year, Rubicon Project was listed in 41.9% of all ads.txt files, only behind AppNexus (Xandr) with 42% and Google 99%.
Last month, Mark Zagorski, COO and former CEO of Telaria, left the Rubicon project and showed that a Fusion is always an acquisition.
The company released a negative second quarter 2020 forecast for the first quarter earnings release for the current year.
From Rubicon to Magnite
“Magnite is an invented word … but it does touch a few things because it brought in that element of permanence, because it looks like a stone as if it were there forever.” said Michael Barrett, CEO and President of Magnite Adweek.
Rubicon Project, now Magnite, has postponed NYSE’s listing to Nasdaq this month. Tomorrow, the name of the ticker will be changed from RUBI to MGNI.
