Have you already thought about your colors for the home office?
If you are going to be working from home for the foreseeable future, you need a space where you can be productive and enjoy your surroundings. Home office colors can play an important role in how you feel (and how you present yourself to others).
With the video calls, your clients / colleagues can take a look at your private life. In my humble opinion, a workplace should look professional.
I recently had a Zoom meeting with someone who is a professional trainer. He is a serious and competent person. But while we were talking, I was repeatedly distracted by shiny, colorful curtains that served as a backdrop. It turned out that these curtains hid his wardrobe …
I really wanted to advise him to either find another location for his video calls. Or at least change his curtains to a more neutral color. Navy blue, gray, or even teal would have looked just right.
But I digress …
One of the easiest and cheapest ways to achieve a professional look is to paint it with fresh paint.
If you’re looking for a shortcut, you can just paint the wall that’s visible behind you.
When we moved to our current home, we painted the entire floor light gray. This color looks wonderful everywhere, but my office was definitely lacking style and personality. This home office color wasn’t the least bit flattering on my head. 🙂
I tried adding a piece of art to this wall, but in the end I went for some beautiful wallpaper that we used as the background. The other 3 walls stayed the same light gray.
My favorite colors for the home office
Benjamin Moore Pale Oak OC-20
I love this paint so much that I used it to paint entire homes for clients and for my own renovations.
It combines gray and beige (gray) which is very stylish.
This is how BM Designer describe it:
“This beautiful neutrality is reminiscent of the majestic white oak and is graceful and elegant. It conveys a sense of style and calm restraint.”
Benjamin Moore Hale Navy HC-154
“This deeply saturated navy shade is a timeless classic, evoking rich maritime traditions and famous exploits at sea.”
Benjamin Moore Silver Mist 1619
“A silvery shimmer characterizes this very pale shade of whisper-soft blue. It’s delicate and light, and it takes a generous amount of gray to achieve its misty quality. “
This calming neutral light gray is easy to use anywhere in your home.
Benjamin Moore Boca Raton Blue 711
Do you feel daring Check out one of these gorgeous home office colors in teal.
