Plastic toys:

If the toy is made entirely of plastic, you can wash it with mild soap or even run it in the dishwasher (not suitable for battery-operated toys). You can put the toys in a laundry bag or strainer so they don’t fall off the shelves. Use a gentle cycle and let the toy air dry. If the stains are stubborn, you can use a carpet or toothbrush to scrub. If the plastic toys are battery operated or have embedded fabrics, you can wipe the surface of the toys with a clean cloth soaked in soapy water.

Wooden toys:

Wooden toys get rough because they warp when soaked in water. To clean wooden toys, use a clean cloth dipped in a 50/50 mixture of water and distilled white vinegar or soapy water. You can also rub a cotton ball with alcohol to remove residues, stains, or dirty spots.

Soft toy (fabric):

If your baby’s plush toys make a noise or have a battery, they can be cleaned on site with a baby wipe. However, if it is a simple soft toy to cuddle, you can put it in your washing machine. And for a deeper cleaning, Load the toy into a laundry bag or pillow case and tumble dry for 15 minutes over medium heat. Make sure the stuffed toys are properly dried as they tend to absorb water and can become breeding grounds for mold.

If the toy shows visible stains, apply the mixture of baking soda and white vinegar and scrub it with a toothbrush before washing it in the machine.

Latex and rubber toys:

Rubber toys are prone to mold if not cleaned regularly. Rubber and latex toys are generally the chew toys, so care should be taken when cleaning them. Rubber toys with holes should never be immersed in water or cleaned under running water.

Remove mold or mildew from bath toys

If not included, mold can cause allergies, breathing problems, and other health problems. Mold affects people of all ages, but people with a weak immune system are more prone to mold. Mold in particular can easily hit children. Bath toys collect more mold than any other toy. Since bath toys are mainly made of rubber and latex, it is recommended that you cook the bath toy once every 2-3 weeks, otherwise mold and mildew will not accumulate.

You can use baby wipes or a DIY spray disinfectant that doesn’t need to be rinsed off and is safer for the baby.

ingredients– –

  • A glass spray bottle (plastic tends to build up mold)

  • Now add essential oil and gently shake it
  • Wait for the bubbles to settle and start cleaning

How often should I brush toys?

  1. Everyday toys that are your baby’s favorite or that you carry in your baby’s diaper bag should be cleaned weekly
  2. The toys, which have not been used for some time, are likely to contain bacteria. They should be cleaned before you give them to your baby
  3. After a play date, other babies put the toys in their mouths

Use these mixtures and keep the baby toy clean so that it is free of all germs and your children are healthy and happy.
