Vegan orecchiette with sausage and broccoli {Apulia, Italy}: Our trips to Italy are some of our favorites and when we traveled through Puglia we fell in love with them Orecchiette, the ear-shaped pasta, which are produced in large quantities in households in the region. Pasta in Puglia is inherently vegan and therefore a great place to travel if you don’t eat meat or dairy products.

Vegan orecchiette with sausage and broccoli {Apulia, Italy}


  • 4 vegan sausages (two per person)

  • 1 large broccoli head cut into small florets

  • 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

  • 4 large cloves of garlic, roughly chopped

  • 350 grams of orecchiette

  • 40 grams of grated vegan parmesan or similar vegan cheese

  • 30 grams of roughly chopped pine nuts

A delicious vegan pasta dish with Italian charm

  • 4th vegan sausages
  • 1 big head broccoli cut into small florets
  • 6 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 4th large Garlic cloves roughly chopped
  • 350 Grams Orecchiette
  • 40 Grams vegan parmesan
  • 30th Grams Pine nuts roughly chopped
  • Place half of the olive oil in a large pan and fry the vegan sausages over medium-high heat for eight to ten minutes until the sausages are completely browned. Set aside.

  • Fill a saucepan with water and bring it to a boil. Add the orecchiette and cook on a light roller cook for 10 minutes.

  • Steam the broccoli florets for five minutes and add to the pan with the chopped garlic and the remaining olive oil and fry gently.

  • Cut the sausages into small, bite-sized slices and put them in the pan.

  • Drain the orecchiette, add the pasta to the pan and stir gently for three minutes.

  • Serve and season with grated vegan parmesan, pine nuts and a little oil.
