Travel & tourism means jobs
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism is one of the industries that have enjoyed great success. Why is travel and tourism recognized this week? Because it’s one of America’s largest industries that means jobs. National, in 2019, The travel and tourism industry directly supported 9 million jobs and 6.8 million in other industries.
Travel & Tourism creates an imported economy for communities
For states like Florida, tourism is the backbone of the economy. D.in 2019, The Sunshine State welcomed an estimated 133.67 million visitors, which is a record number. Based on the 2017 numbers, Visitors outside the state of Florida contributed $ 85.9 billion to the state’s economy, and households in Florida save about $ 1,512 a year on visitor spending.
Nationally, the travel industry generated more than $ 2.6 trillion in economic output, with $ 1.1 trillion spent directly by travelers in the United States. Traveler spending generated $ 180 billion in tax revenue for state and local governments that fund essential programs and support.
Traveling is fun, but it is certainly a serious business.
