It cannot be overlooked that, like almost everywhere else in the world, Pattaya has been affected by the Coronavirus or Covid-19. However, despite all the gloomy news and despair, are there any positive results that may turn out after the whole sad affair is over and we become “normal” again?
Infrastructure improvements
Work has continued to improve drainage along Pattaya Beach Road and other areas. It’s something that had the potential to cause significant disruption in the city, but with fewer people nearby, the job can be done without affecting people’s lives. It is also an opportunity for other infrastructure improvements to make the city more welcoming when tourists return.
Survival of the fittest
While this isn’t what some business owners want to hear, it can benefit those who visit the city and who already live there. We are sure that some tough economic times are ahead, but the strongest bars and restaurants will do well and benefit, while others will unfortunately go to the wall. In the long run this should benefit everyone involved and may even be approved by the government by encouraging “high quality” tourists!
Take care of each other
In difficult times we always see the best and the worst in people. The recent pandemic has brought many people together and experienced wonderful, friendly actions. It is something we could all do well to continue and maybe think more about others than just ourselves.
