Proposed changes in dealing with discrimination complaints – Law and Religion Australia Religion

NSW is reviewing a private member’s draft law to improve complaints handling procedures related to allegations of discrimination and defamation by a committee of the Legislative Council. Since a number of issues have arisen in cases where comments have been made from a religious perspective, Freedom of belief have made a template on the invoice (the Draft amendment to anti-discrimination (handling complaints) 2020). As a board member of Freedom for Faith, I had a few submissions that can be downloaded here for those interested:

The Committee’s website states that filings were closed today (April 26). However, I suspect that the committee may be willing to accept late submissions if others would like to contribute to the legislation and in the light of the disturbances caused by the current situation.
