The Federal Ministry of Education has refuted the news that the federal government ordered the reopening of schools.
The ministry’s press director, Ben Goong, announced this on Sunday, April 12, 2020.
While Goong warned the Nigerians to ignore the news, he said there was no such instruction from Minister Adamu Adamu.
“Everyone had been told to work from home because of the coronavirus pandemic,” he noted.
He also warned parents, guardians, and interest groups to ignore false news. He urged that they continue to follow the government’s order to contain the devastating pandemic.
“With regard to the reopening of schools, the Ministry has not ordered the reopening of a school at any level. The minister’s alleged press release for this purpose is a clear fake since it is not from the minister, ”he said.
“Any hint in this direction simply comes from the fruitful imagination of the author and that the Ministry has nothing to do with it. Interest groups and the general public should ignore such statements. Stay home, stay safe. Let’s work from home like me. Only the living can work or worship, ”he added.
