Answer all your questions about CBD – Hello Adams Family Fashion

When I started working on everything I wanted to include in HAF Wellness Month, I knew that CBD should play an important role. The capsules and daily drops out Balances I have become such an important part of my morning and night routine and have helped me find everything from better sleep to increased concentration to more patience with my children. (More about my experience with CBD for the first time in this post here.) I wanted you all to experience the same benefits of CBD as I do. That’s why we introduced a 30-day CBD challenge as part of the wellness month!

Honestly, I’m still learning everything that CBD can do, and I knew you would all have some questions too. Therefore I am very happy about an interview Coco Meers, Co-founder and CEO of Equilibria, together with Bonnie Knobloch, Head of Business Development at Equilibria, as part of our Wellness Expert series – they address everything from determining your correct CBD dosage to the origin of CBD and whether there are any May or may not have side effects. We’ll go live too Instagram at 3 p.m. CST to answer further questions! Read all the answers below and leave a comment if you took part in the 30-day CBD Challenge with us. I would love to hear what you thought!

Q: Why is CBD suddenly so popular? It seems like it’s everywhere now!

A: Indeed !! Analysts believe there are over 5,000 CBD brands on the market. One reason for this sudden tide of new entrants is the recent Farm Bill approved by Congress in December 2018 that legalized CBD from industrial hemp (marijuana cousin but with less than 0.3% THC) nationwide.

In addition to these legal advances, recent improvements in genetics and breeding techniques have made it easier to express the medicines traditionally found in marijuana plants in his legal industrial hemp cousin (long known only for ropes and fibers).

When high quality CBD is properly grown, bred and processed, it can significantly improve the quality of life. It’s no wonder, but for many people who use it regularly, it’s really life-changing … another reason we hear so much about this powerful plant.

Q: Has the FDA approved CBD? Is CBD legal in all states? How do I know if CBD is of good quality?

A: In this fast growing, unregulated industry, manufacturers are cutting right and left by offering industrial hemp oil that is (at best) ineffective because it is not grown or harvested to be therapeutic, or ( in the worst case) actually dangerous because it contains pesticides and heavy metals. Industrial hemp as a crop is actually used as a means of cleaning fields between crop cycles. Manufacturers who do not ask detailed questions about their supply could even unwittingly introduce these harmful chemicals into customers’ products.

When looking for a high quality product, the following points should be noted:

1) Always ask for third party lab reports !! Not all CBD oils are the same. Therefore, always read the COAs (Certificate of Analysis) of a product to ensure that it does NOT contain any harmful chemicals and maximally contains cannabinoids and terpenes, the therapeutic agents of the cannabis plant.

2) full spectrum oil !! There are over 100 different cannabinoids (therapeutic compounds) in the cannabis plant. CBD works best in combination with other cannabinoids and terpenes, including the more well-known sister THC (which plays an important role in opening receptors in the ECS and preparing your body for CBD intake). Full spectrum oil refers to the expression of as many cannabinoids and terpenes as possible, creating a so-called “entourage effect” that maximizes the therapeutic benefits and helps the CBD to work better!

3) Make sure everything comes from the same farm. Would you take medication that had a different strength each time? No! Why should you use a company that combines products from several companies?

Q: What are the side effects of CBD?

A: In 2018 the World Health Organization was published a report Saying that CBD has a safe profile that is generally well tolerated by most people – you cannot overdose on CBD and it is not a habit.

The most commonly reported side effects are drowsiness, nausea, or headache – it is rare, and most people who experience these side effects find that they go away on their own after a few days of consistent use. Even so, there are contraindications to some prescription drugs. We therefore always recommend speaking to your doctor and our local pharmacists can also help you!

Q: How can I best determine the correct dosage of CBD that I should be taking?

A: Body chemistry is different for everyone, so it may take some time and experimentation to find the best dose and best regime (but we promise the juice is worth the pressure!). For newbies, we recommend starting with the daily doses of our two 10 mg capsules (longer lasting) and 10 mg / ml drops (faster release) – usually around 20 mg per day in total.

After about a week of consistent use, we invite our members to report to them and assess whether their goals have been achieved. If so, great! If not, it may be time to optimize either the product, the dosage, the frequency or the combination!

The effects of CBD can be subtle while having long-term effects. Ultimately, it’s about your body’s system functioning as it originally did. So if you take CBD to sleep better, you may notice an improvement in the depth and quality of your sleep. If you take CBD to relieve your anxiety, you may find that you feel more even and better able to deal with everyday stress. Everyone’s experience is unique. That’s why we have a team of dosing consultants to help you find the best dose for you!

Q: Why does consistency affect the effectiveness of CBD?

A: Just like vitamins or supplements, CBD and other cannabinoids build up in the body over time. A daily dose can help maintain a sustained level in your system and promote a more effective endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a biological system that has been shown to help control sleep, mood, inflammation and general homeostasis (the body’s state of balance). So it is important that it stays in top condition! Over time, with continued use, you should reach a point where you take CBD as a proactive rather than a reactionary measure.

Q: Can I take CBD while pregnant or breastfeeding?

A: Unfortunately, pregnant and lactating women are always the last group that has been studied in clinical trials. Therefore, there is very little data on whether CBD can be used during pregnancy or not.

Ultimately, most women depend on whether CBD helps them deal with anxiety and reduce the amount of medicines they take. Some women decide that it is the lesser of two evils, and some women choose not to use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It really depends on a personal decision – and a conversation with your doctor.

That said, women produce much of their endocannabinoids (the compounds that CBD can help replenish) in their womb. After birth, women are often exhausted from these endocannabinoids, so many women find CBD helpful to get back on their feet after birth!

Q: Can you stop and restart CBD? I’m worried that I can never stop when I start taking CBD!

A: CBD is not considered an addictive substance and we do not develop a tolerance for it (which is not always the case with THC). Even so, many people describe that they don’t realize how much it has helped them until they stop and their bodies become unbalanced. While a CBD regime can of course be stopped at any time, many people find that the benefits, like their daily vitamin or preferred eye cream, are so positive that they would prefer not to miss a day.

Q: How is CBD different from weeds? Will I not pass a drug test if I take CBD?

A: General rule of thumb: CBD is about health, THC is about high.

CBD is a natural ingredient in cannabis flowers that has been shown to improve mental and physical wellbeing when used properly and consistently. CBD is a powerful health aid, but there is NO discernible impairment (no high!).

“Weed” or marijuana is Cannabis sativa that has grown to express over 0.3% THC, and industrial hemp is a Cannabis sativa Plant grown to express a THC level of 0.3% or less – for this reason there is no high and it is legal.

While CBD is found technically in both marijuana and industrial hemp plants, CBD is obtained exclusively from industrial hemp at the federal level. All hemp plants that cross the 0.3% line in the sand become marijuana plants that are illegal nationwide and (after about 10% THC) psychoactive / intoxicating.

The question of drug testing is difficult … Every woman’s body chemistry is different, so we don’t know exactly how your body will metabolize our products. Think of it as alcohol consumption. If a beer contains 5% ABV / alcohol (like our products contain 0.3% THC or less), the amount you consume will determine your BAC / blood alcohol level (or in this case, the THC level in your bloodstream) . The more you take at the same time, the more likely it will be recognized in a test. Although it is unusual for members to test positive, the THC level in our products is very low, but it is not impossible. Concerned? Get an over-the-counter THC test at your local pharmacy to find out for sure.

Q: Does CBD have any properties to fight cancer or autoimmune diseases?

A: Many of our members use CBD to treat their autoimmune disorders. While CBD is a well-known anti-inflammatory agent (inflammation is the main cause of many diseases, including autoimmune diseases), since it was legal only for a short time, the studies are very early. We always recommend that you speak to your doctor if you include CBD in your routine!

Q: Can CBD help with appetite control?

A: CBD helps our body maintain balance or homeostasis in almost all of our body’s functions, including our pleasure / reward system. Early studies have shown that CBD can help control our dopamine and serotonin levels and reduce cravings. In addition, CBD has been shown to help produce more anandamide (our lucky molecule) to help determine the cause of overeating. If we feel better, we are less likely to get binge eating!

Q: Does alcohol affect the CBD? Should I avoid taking them together?

A: CBD and alcohol in moderation are fine. However, many women state that the more they use CBD to relax, the less alcohol they need at the end of the day. CBD can slow down the rate at which your body processes alcohol, increasing the buzz!

Q: Does CBD affect antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication? Are there medications you shouldn’t take with CBD (cold medicine, antibiotics, etc.)?

A: Yes, you should ALWAYS ask your doctor and / or pharmacist to ensure that they are not interacting with anything you are currently taking.

The co-founders of EQ, Marcy and Coco have successfully used CBD with Paxil, Wellbutrin, Klonopin, Xanax, Propranolol and Enbrel and found that they work together pretty well and ultimately they are both happier and healthier with a changed / lowered pharmaceutical routine and more CBD .

Ultimately, it’s up to you and your doctor to decide whether CBD is right for you or not!

Q: Can CBD really be absorbed through the skin? I was told that oral intake is the only way for CBD to work!

A: We always recommend our members to try a product they are taking along with their current products to maximize the benefits. Although a current CBD product does not get into your bloodstream like a consumed product, it can be helpful for targeted relief. When considering current products, make sure that you are looking for a product with a lot of CBD and something that can be absorbed by the skin, e.g. B. shea butter, not beeswax, which only sits on the skin.

Q: Is CBD safe for children? My 13 year old is suffering from anxiety and I wonder if CBD could help.

A: Unfortunately we cannot advise anyone under the age of 18. We recommend that you speak to your doctor!

Q: I can’t afford the full balance box. How do I get the best for my money with CBD?

A: We usually recommend starting with our Balance Box, which is a combination of our 10 mg Daily Softgels and a 300 mg bottle of our Daily Drops®, so you can see how your body responds to both products. However, if you only want to start with one product, I recommend the 300 mg bottle of our Daily Drops.

The Daily Drops work quickly, so members love them to handle moments of high stress. It is also ideal for microdosing in small quantities and for slow titration until you have found your sweet spot. Low and slow is the key!

The Daily Softgels have a lower absorption rate because they go through your digestive system, but act as a slow release. The effects can be subtle – most members describe it as more even and balanced. Think of it as insurance for the day (or night!).

Whatever you choose, we recommend that you keep a diary and, after a week of consistent use, make an appointment with your dosing specialist so that you can dial into the best personalized routine for you!

Q: Can men use balance too? Or do you have another line that you would recommend to men?

A: Yes! In the future we will be launching products that are designed specifically for women, but at the moment all of our products are completely safe for men! Many of our members are men. I always joke that it is still for women when your husband is in a better mood. 🙂

Thank you very much, Coco and Bonnie, for your insight! I look forward to being at our IG Live this afternoon and answering all of these questions in more detail!
