If you’re constantly feeling like you’re losing socks, try these great ways to use old, mismatched socks

If you feel like you’re losing socks all the time, you’re not alone. Losing socks in the wash is a common problem. In fact, the average person will lose more than one sock a monthThis can correspond to over 1,000 socks lost during an average lifespan. I’ve made a list of things that can be made or made with strange socks.

Over time, most of us develop a number of old and mismatched socks without a partner. A lot of people just choose to throw them away, but that’s not the best thing. There are several ways to give these socks a second chance.

Whether you got new socks by Elite Sports Socks, or just have too many strange socks, this article will go through some brilliant ways and skills to use these old mismatched socks.

Doing things with strange socks

Make a stress ball

Unfortunately, many people have to do it today a lot of stress. This can come from work, finance, or a number of other potential concerns. Fortunately, an old or mismatched sock can make a great stress ball. All you have to do is fill a plastic bag with some putty or clay and put it in your socks.

Tie the sock and voila together (or sew them), you have a makeshift stress ball. It will work incredibly well and pushing the ball for a few minutes is sure to help tame your stress. If the clay or putty is worn out or no longer works, you can easily add more.

Cleaning and dusters

Another big role that these old socks can play is that of a cleaning rag. Spills and other contaminants are common in an entire house (especially in children). While we often use paper towels or other disposable items to remove these stains, this is very wasteful.

Instead, cut up your old socks and use them to remove clutter. They are generally very absorbent and can be cleaned and reused many times. In addition to cleaning up spills and dirt, these socks can also help with dusting, as dust and dirt often stick to the fibers of the sock.

A fresh bag

It would be nice if our houses and every room in them always smelled fresh and clean, but this is not always the case. Sportswear, cat litter, dirty laundry and other things can quickly change from fresh to dirty. Instead of dealing with it or having to keep cleaning it, you should make a fresh bag with a mismatched sock.

Take your clean sock, fill it with potpourri or other spices, and then put it in a place where you could refresh yourself. They are perfect for sports bags, closets or even on the windowsill. You can even add a few drops of essential oils if you want.

A sock monkey

If you have children, you should use these old socks to make a fun craft or toy. There are dozens of different options and it can be a great way to spend an afternoon with your family. It can be a unique piece of art, a koozie for a cup, or even a sock monkey. The choice is up to you and your children.

All you need is a sock or two, and then maybe go to the local craft store to buy additional items like yarn, buttons, thread, and anything else you might need!
