EACOED Cut off Mark 2020/2021

Cut-off grade is the grade determined by the agency or board of directors performing an exam that is considered to have passed or cleared the exam.

Based on the cut-off mark, the candidates will be shortlisted for the further phases of the selection process.

The cut-off varies for different exams, it depends on the availability of job offers and the level of competition.

Here’s an example to illustrate what a cut is.

If there are ten people who are writing an exam to become a bank employee, but the total number of vacancies is 2, the bank has to eliminate some candidates and keep only a few for the next selection level, we say interview, so put them a cut-off is likely to be an above-average grade for the test being performed, which will result in few bad points and others will be selected for the next level. Hope this helped explain what Cut Off Mark is?

The official JAMB and Post-UTME cut-off brand for EACOED After the Federal Government abolished Post-UTME, the Joints Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) awarded a benchmark of 180 and higher for candidates applying for universities, technical colleges and universities of teacher education. For this reason, EACOED followed to place their cut-off mark at 180.

But the question that borders on you remains: what about those who were over 180 years old but have not yet been admitted to study their desired courses?

You have to know that; Candidates with higher scores are considered first; Candidates with lower scores that may reach the 180 cut-off mark are unlikely to be admitted into the admissions framework. The higher your score, the more likely you are to be admitted.

Most universities, including the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, EACOED doesn’t really have a specific cut-off brand for courses. However, potential candidates who have achieved at least 180 points in the UTME exam are entitled to apply for admission to one of their chosen courses.

All engineering courses – 200 and more in posts and 60% in post-UTME
All basic medical courses 180 and more in posts and 50% and more in Post-UTME
