COVID-19: UNILAG grants employees a 14-day break : Nigerian Education

As part of measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) instructed workers on the CONTISS 1-12 salary scale to stay at home for two weeks.

This was announced in a statement by the university on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

The statement states that the break would end on April 8th. However, workers who provide essential services and workers in levels 13 to 15 are exempt from the requirement to stay at home.

The university also banned gatherings of more than 10 people on campus and instructed restaurants to only take away.

“Following previous efforts by the university agency to support federal and state efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus, management approved an emergency meeting on March 23 that CONTISS 1-12 employees should stay home for two weeks with effect from Tuesday March 24th to Wednesday April 8th, ”the statement said.

The home stay policy is designed to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
