Continue to take this seriously and limit your contact with others. Even if these are other family members, you should be aware of their meetings and interactions with others. Mental health, development and family play considerations

1. Encourage independent play Use open materials around the house such as play silk, tea service, play kitchen, sand game, water game, sensory bags / bottles, clothes, small world game with figures, climbing domes and spikers etc.

2nd Less is more when it comes to toys – Be creative and let them explore with paint, water and sand (the bathtub is a great place here too). Make a clean sweep and Rotate materials every other day or so to keep the interest going. When more is available, behavior and focus seem to run free (the other way)! Make it clear to your children that toys are part of the house and that they are looked after. If the room is clear, tidying up is easier for the child and they can understand how the room / house is kept. This will keep some sense!

3rd Exercise! Drink lots of water. Ride your bike. Go into the forest (Practice social distance and safety rules) – Avoid parks where play structures are touched and not cleaned. Enjoy the peace and be active together. There is a reason why educational trends are based on nature play and free authentic game theories.

4th Engage your children to prepare healthy snacks and meals. Make bread or muffins to freeze together, season tomato sauce, make sandwiches, and continue to promote healthy family eating habits.

7. Handicrafts & crafts – Time to model, teach, or create handmade items for the home or to play with. During my time in the Waldorf, all parents participated in the production of all toys and materials in the classroom. Here I found out about my love for needle felting! 10th Move! Dance parties for the whole family to encourage exercise! You can also use YouTube yoga for the kids or new dances to practice!
