Best travel wallet

What is the best type of wallet for my trip? I’ve heard this question several times. Some women often even wonder whether they should bring a wallet or whether they are exposed to theft.

You definitely want to bring your wallet with you when you travel! But you don’t want to bring any old wallet with you. You want one that has enough storage space to stow away your daily trip hazards while keeping your valuables safe.

My wallet is important when I travel, especially for city trips. It contains everything I need for a day of sightseeing: my phone, an additional battery, my camera, a wallet, antibacterial towels, hair ties, lipstick and much more.

But when it comes to going out on the street, not all bags are the same. That’s why I’ve put together a few guidelines to help you choose the right bag and highlight some of my favorite options.

What to look for in a travel bag

zipper

No matter what type of wallet you are traveling with, make sure it has a secure zipper closure. Big hobbies with floppy may look cute, but if they are closed with a magnetic clip only, put them back. With a zipped shoulder bag, everything is needed to protect you from pickpockets if you want to keep a hand on the zipper.

Robust fabric that is difficult to cut

Although I love the fact that my PacSafe Daysafe bag has steel wire mesh on the bottom and a steel wire reinforced bracelet to avoid slashes and theft, this level of security is not essential. However, you want to make sure that your travel bag is made of a sturdy, durable material that is not easy to cut. Put the thin cotton bags or thin nylon back.

Neck strap

I believe that crossbody purses are the best for traveling women. They free your hands, but can also be carried forward so that you can keep an eye on them. A neck strap also makes it difficult for a potential bag robber to separate you from your bag.

Backpacks offer more storage space, but are more difficult to access when needed, but more accessible to pickpockets in crowded places.

You may want to consider a belt bag as a travel bag because it is very difficult to snap up and you are really hands-free. I don’t like them for their small storage capacities, but if you’re a minimal traveler who only needs his phone, wallet, and keys, it may be right for you as long as it meets the other security criteria.

Anti-theft device

The main thing that could separate a travel bag from any other wallet you might buy is the advanced security features. Looking for things like:

  • RFID lock pockets
  • Slash-proof carrier
  • Panels reinforced with wire mesh
  • Close closures
  • Locking straps

Pascafe Daysafe

PacSafe – Daysafe

Theft protection | camp

This is the anti-theft bag I am currently using. I was looking for something with a little more storage space than my Citysafe 100, but smaller than the Citysafe200. This is the casual crossbody that fits better, like my Fuji XT-20. With external access pockets for things you need on the go and an internal compartment with organization and protection where you need them, this is your everyday bag. Throw it over your shoulder and kick out with confidence.

It has all of the standard PacSafe security features like an RFID lock pocket, a slit-resistant mesh lining and straps, zippers and a strap lock that allows you to attach your bag to other items.

This classic-looking travel handbag offers a range of anti-theft features to help you keep your wallet, phone, tablet, and security on the go. Smart zips and slashguard technology are just the beginning. Close it and conquer the world.

Travelon Hobo

Travelon – Anti-Theft Heritage Hobo bag

Theft protection | camp

The Travelon Heritage line is made from a cotton-poly blend that is a nice change from the more traditional nylon anti-theft devices. However, it still has all the desired anti-theft features such as zippers, slit-resistant straps and RFID lock pockets. The hobo bag is large enough to fit the essentials together with a camera and a travel tripod. It comes with two straps so you can carry it as a shoulder bag when you are in a safer environment.

Travelon Crossbody

Travelon – Anti-Theft Heritage small shoulder bag

Theft protection | Compact

I like the casual feel of this cotton-poly blend bag. Although it’s not a thick material like leather, it comes with wire mesh reinforced panels and reinforced steel cable ties so you don’t have to worry. The main compartment has an interior organizer with a zip pocket, pockets and pen loop. There is a tied key clip with LED light so you can see everything in your pocket. It’s small enough not to feel like you’re dragging your entire carryon around town, but big enough to stow away your top sights.
