It was easy: everyday marketing - Carol Bass

Everyday scenarios can be a marketing opportunity

But first you have to be prepared:

  • Always take your business cards with you.
  • Always think of opportunity, opportunity, opportunity.
  • Look at the part.

Now that we have that behind us. Let’s look at an opportunity and how you can make everyday marketing work.

Scenario 1

You buy household goods for a customer or maybe for yourself. You see a woman with three carpets on the floor and a confused expression on her face.
They approach and start looking at the carpets with her
You: What room do we make?
Woman: Oh, it’s my bathroom and I can’t decide which carpet would be the best.
(Women love to share)
You: Tell me about the room. I am a decorator. (Smile)
Woman: Oh thank you, well, it’s … blah blah blah
You: I think the best carpet based on what you said would be __________.
You: No problem. If you have any further questions, here is my card.

Scenario 2

Again you are shopping. (We are not always.) You have several shopping carts at the checkout. You allow someone with an object to walk in front of you.
You: You have all three carts
Buyer: Oh, you’re doing a big project, aren’t you?
You: why yes, I am a decorator and I shop for several customers today.
Buyer: are you? I need a decorator. Do you have a card
You: Yes, I do? What are you working on? Call me, I would be happy to help.

Scenario 3

You are at a cocktail party and mingling with the crowd. Someone asks what you are doing. I never just say that I am a decorator and home artist.
Cocktail Party Person: (CPP) What are you doing?
You: I am a problem solver.
CPP: Wow, what is a problem solver?
You: You know, I’ve found that people buy pretty things for their home, but when
they get the house; They don’t know what to do with them. I come in as a decorator
and by using your things, I can take what you have and transform me in a few hours
Your room gives it a designer look. Problem solved.
Option for do-it-yourselfers:
CPP: Wow, what is a problem solver?

You: Homeowners have the misunderstanding that potential buyers can look beyond their lives and introduce themselves in their home. Well, they can’t. I come in and look at the house through the eyes of the buyers. I give them an action plan and with my help they are sold. problem solved
