A Delta State school owner was arrested for having carnal knowledge of a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in his home without her consent and knowledge.
This happened on the same day that the member of the corps reported at the location of the main task as part of the compulsory one-year national service.
Delta State Police Command told reporters in Asaba on Tuesday that it had arrested the school owner, Mr. Michael Anigholor, after the female member of the youth corps reported the case.
The suspect was identified as the owner of Grace Life International School, Oghara-Efe, in the Ethiope East region of Delta State where the female corps member was based.
Delta State Police Commissioner Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa said while informing journalists at the State Command headquarters that the suspect had taken advantage of the youth corps member when she reported to the school for her main job.
“On January 14, 2020, around 11:00 a.m., the applicant, a youth body stationed at Grace Life International School in Oghata-Efe, claimed that on January 9, 2020, she registered for her main job at the school.
“According to her documentation, the suspect Michael Anigholor, who is the owner, took her to his home in Sapele and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.”
Inuwa, who praised the public and the press for assisting the police in their work, announced that the suspect had been arrested and brought to trial on charge No. MS / MUSC / 02c / 2020.
