The governor of Borno promotes dedicated teachers : Nigerian Education

The governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, promoted Ms. Obiagelli, a primary school teacher in the state.

Class 12 teacher, Ms. Obiagelli Mazi, whom the governor met around 6:30 a.m. during a school visit on Friday, February 7, 2020, was promoted to be at work at the time of the visit.

The governor set off on Friday morning to inspect the public facilities. When he arrived at school, he met Ms. Obiagelli in her class and was waiting for her students.

The woman, an Indian from Abia State, is a primary school teacher at Shehu Sanda Kyarimi primary school.

Governor Zulum was overwhelmed by Ms. Obiagelli’s commitment and praised and rewarded her with personal cash of N 100,000, almost three times her monthly salary of N 35,000.

“Yesterday, at 6.30 am, I went to Shehu Sanda Kyarimi 2 Elementary School to see how we could improve the infrastructure and I met the teacher, Ms. Obliageri Mazi, an Igbo Christian from Abia State, 31 Years in the state of Borno. Although it was very early, I did not meet any of the teachers and their students on site, just them, ”said Zulum.

“I am not surprised by their gender, their tribe, their religion or their country of origin, but I am very surprised by their passion, their enthusiasm, their commitment, their commitment and above all their patriotism,” he remarked.

“As a government, we are very proud of them,” he added.

In addition, Governor Zulum instructed the Executive Chairman of the Borno State Universal Education Board to review the position of women in public service and their qualifications, and to recommend their promotion from class teacher to deputy headmistress.

During the delivery of the letter of promotion to the teacher, the executive chairman of the state universal education committee of Borno, Dr. Shettima Kullima that Governor Zulum’s recommendation was approved.

“Even though the woman was not yet a graduate, she deserved promotion for 31 years of teaching experience and dedication combined with a governor’s leadership role,” said Dr. Shettima Kullima.
