Following Queen Elizabeth’s decision last year to resign from her royal duties, Prince Charles will become heir to take charge of the royal family in eighteen months.
This contributed to Charles’ speech The World Economic Forum on Tuesday [1/21/20], (his first prominent engagement in 2020), an important moment; and one in which he expressed his intention to take on a more prominent global role.
The main focus of the prince in Davos this year, like many others, was on the need to establish himself new global processes to combat climate change, While Charles has been a passionate environmentalist for years (he gave his first official speech on environmental issues in 1968), in his Davos speech, he explained that it is the responsibility of the business community to permanently switch to sustainable practices.
The prince continues on climate change: “We simply cannot waste any more time – the only limit is our willingness to act, and the time to act is now.”
