A mother squats to her little daughter and smiles while her daughter holds a teddy bear.

If your schedule in December was something like mine, our routines were really messed up. We spent more time partying with family and friends, and our eating and sleeping plans were more flexible than usual.

When the holidays are over, you will return to a regular schedule
or routine can provide the structure and security that most families appreciate.
If children understand the routines, they can manage theirs
Feelings and behaviors because they know what to expect or what to expect
happens next.

If we throw the timetable out of the window and don’t get it
Enough rest, or forgot to eat, sleep and exercise regularly
influences our mood and behavior! According to research in the
Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology, parents who follow daily routines
can benefit from time management skills and a reduction in attention
Trouble. The same study also suggests that children who know what to do
Rather, expect a feeling of family stability on a daily basis
than those who experience randomness in the schedule.

Children and families who had a few days off from school and work now have to go back to everyday life. Children and adolescents do best when routines are regular, predictable, and consistent. A study published in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics reports that family routines support children and their emotional development. And it is social / emotional health that enables children to thrive in the classroom.

Routines such as singing, bedtime snacks, storytelling and connecting with family carers are helpful for a good night’s sleep. The care we do to help children adapt to everyday life proves to be helpful for long-term adaptation, both at school and at home. Take a moment to think about something you can do to make it easier to get back to routine in your home or school.
