10 business ideas for students in Nigeria.
Here are 10 great business ideas what you can consider as a student to earn extra money;
1. Buy and sell.
By far the easiest way if students have capital that they can invest. You should look for products that are easy and quick to sell, e.g. B.: used textbooks, cheap cell phones, computers, clothes, everything related to the needs of each student. You can either use their school network to sell their products, local markets or online markets.
Recycling is an investment with very little capital investment as it involves buying junks or broken items. Sometimes you can even collect some items for free. Recycled items that I like best are: computer parts, broken cell phones, broken computers, broken and old televisions and much more. The trick is to buy or collect junks at a very low price and bring them back to life through repairs. This can make a good profit.
3. Plan school events.
Popular, social, and outgoing students should use their networking skills to generate money. What good is it to have over 100 active friends if you can’t make money from them? Students are the wildest partiers. So if you excel in networking, consider planning events, school activities, and parties for a fee.
4. Freelance work.
As a student, you must have a laptop and a cell phone. With a laptop and a good internet connection, students should learn new skills such as graphic design, resume writing, articles, web development, software installation, and more. These skills can later be delivered as a service through their network at school, online or in local markets.
Social and open-minded students who have a large presence on social media should apply for marketing jobs or become marketers for small businesses. The idea is to advertise other companies’ products through their network and pay a commission on every sale. It shouldn’t take more than an hour a day and all of the work can be done through social media.
6. House cleaning, laundry and ironing service.
Offering cleaning, laundry, and ironing services in your free time can prove very lucrative if you work hard on them. Search for houses near you and offer your services. Run it as a company, not part-time, and you will experience unimaginable growth.
Are you a smart student Do you have the ability to learn and understand each school topic faster than your partner? Why don’t you teach other students in your free time? Not every student has the gift of being keen at school, and it’s an opportunity for every smart student to make cool money. Form a study group, help your friends with homework and exams, and charge a fee for your services. Teaching students is also recommended and facilitated.
8. Wash the car.
Another cool way to make quick money, like tip 6, is to look for cars or bikes to wash up in your neighborhood, among your friends, professor, or relatives. It is quite possible that you will find a customer every day.
9. Baby sitting.
If you love children, consider babysitting from time to time and teach these children. An amazing experience that may lead you to become a primary school teacher or get into education.
10. Entertainment, follow your passion.
A very tricky tip if you ask me: I met a student some time ago who had a bachelor’s degree in economics and performed as a comedian on shows to make a living. I used the word tricky because it can easily distract students and make them drop out of school. Otherwise, they should take the opportunity to work for their passion in their free time in order to reduce stress and have fun. Quick examples of passion: painting, poetry, songwriting, producing, making beats, fashion and much more.
