This is exactly what our friend Vineet Daniel M. believes. That’s why he tells his own inspiring story about the “mountain of life” that he climbed.

Vineet, 22, is a medical student. He studies as an international student in Chicago, USA. He first contacted YourDOST in September 2019. His problem? None that he could really pinpoint. But he had one goal – personal growth.

I didn’t necessarily have a personal problem at the beginning. I was currently in a very mental health stage where I decided to try therapy just to keep myself under control

In addition, Vineet wanted to improve his self-confidence to improve his connections with others. All in all, there was a man here who was determined to be a better version of himself. He contacted YourDOST Expert, Ms. Amulya DSL, to respond to this solution.

When Vineet first contacted me, he had certain concerns that he wanted to discuss. In the course of therapy, we were able to discuss them as larger goals while addressing certain concerns that arose during the process

Together, Vineet and Amulya explored the concepts of connection, self-love, vulnerability, emotional management, authenticity, and academic and professional goals in his life. One of the things that set Vineet apart was his openness and receptivity to the therapy process and the change he could bring about. He was regular and consistent in planning meetings and showing up for them. Vineet allowed itself and the therapy process to slow down, rather than unrealistically striving for change and making it happen. He also actively dealt with therapy by frankly sharing his concerns and doing the exercises and homework discussed with all sincerity.

The sessions reflected my mental state very well and made me more aware of it, my vulnerability and my defense mechanisms. Just being aware of it is such a big plus in your life that it can only be experienced when it happens

Over time, the therapy started to work. Vineet has made excellent progress in learning to accept his own feelings and share them with others, which opens up healthier perspectives for dealing with conflicts, taking risks and initiating behaviors that improve his self-confidence.

5 months later, Vineet is indeed a better version of itself.
