Lagos TESCOM recruitment: 50,000 applied for 1,000 apprenticeships – A member of the Lagos Civil Service Commission, Suru Avoseh, said no fewer than 50,000 applicants had applied for 1,000 vacant apprenticeships announced by the state government in 2019. – Check the shortlist here!

Avoseh made this known during the New Year party organized by the Badagry Women Development Forum in Badagry on Sunday.

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the Lagos government announced on November 11 that it would employ one thousand teachers in public secondary schools across the state.

Avoseh said some of the applicants who had qualified for the position had been invited to the exam.

“After the exam, those who pass and meet the standard are invited to oral interviews.

“Some of the applicants who passed the exam started to receive SMS through their phone numbers.

“It is certain that not everyone who has applied for the job will be hired and not all who have passed the test will get a job,” said the Commissioner.

He said that Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Civil Service Commission would soon start employing people in the state.

“We will also start working soon. Every request was made and we discussed it with the head of the service.

“At the moment we have started the employee check to determine the number of positions to be filled.

“After the review, the Commission can tell Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu how many people will be employed.

“Well, we’re getting ready now,” said Avoseh.

He asked the women in Badagry to take over the men in politics for the development of the city.

Avoseh urged them to fight for their rightful place in politics, adding that they had every right to fight for a political post of their choice.

Funmilola Olajide, director of the State Special Education Office in Lagos, asked women to be best friends of their children.

Olajide said this would make the children tell them things that were happening outside their homes.
