How to hang up a picture like a home stager Scandinavian

Hanging works of art on walls can be a tedious task, especially if two hooks / screws are required for the picture. And if you’ve never hung a picture before, the task can be daunting. After all, you can feel beaten if you punch holes in your wall just to get a crooked picture. But you’re lucky! In this blog you will learn how to correctly align and hang a picture the first time. Follow these simple steps and you can learn how to hang pictures like a professional do it yourself!

Materials you need:

  1. Painter’s tape (I prefer Shurtech Painter’s Mate Green Masking Tape, 48mm x 55m)
  2. Level (a simple 2-foot carpentry level works fine)
  3. Picture hook (I use Wall Respectors from Beemer Carton Consulting Inc. you can buy it here.)
  4. Drill or hammer (if you hang your pictures with screws or nails)
  5. scissors

directions:

Suitable for sawtooth, D-ring, keyhole hook and
canvases

  1. Think about where you want to hang your picture on the wall.
  2. Rotate your picture so that your back is facing you.
  3. Measure the distance between the hooks and cut a piece of tape.
Measure the distance between the hooks.
  1. Place the tape on the wall where you want the picture to hang and at the same height as the hooks. Use a straightener to make sure it’s level (you may need to adjust the tape strip a few times).
Place it just above eye level
  1. Once it is perfectly aligned, you can attach your picture hooks to either end of the ribbon.
  1. Lower the picture onto the hook, and Voila! You now have a perfect picture in a few minutes!
Ta-daa!

Last check

After hanging, check the edge of the picture to make sure it is level. For particularly heavy pictures or paintings, you should anchor the screws or nails in the wall pins.
