Travel and Blogger Review: November 2019 Luxury Travel

Hi Guys! I have decided to bring mine back monthly reviews, Blogging feels so strategically … these days, so I wanted to have a place where I can casually share my travel plans, book recommendations, and life updates. I will also start sharing traffic and income reports. Thank you for reading!

Hello everybody! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. If you have not celebrated Turkey Day, I hope you enjoy December so far.

In November I drove my family to my cousin's wedding in Antigua. Needless to say, had a fantastic time.

At home I lowered my head and tried to blog as much as possible. Next semester, I'll have a TON of classes, so I'm trying to get as much content out of it as I can.

Where I was:

  • Ann Arbor, Michigan (28 days)
  • Antigua & Barbuda (3 days)
  • Miami (1 day)

September highs:

I drive to Antigua over the weekend. I still can not believe that we only flew to the Caribbean for three days! Other than that, it was absolutely worth it. The wedding was a black tie, so I had to get dressed and drink champagne, two of my favorite things. (Does anyone else love dressing?) We also surfed the sea for a day, which was a joy.

Participation in language meetings. I started meetup.com to find French and Spanish Meetups. I've been scared to try meetup.com for years, but I've found that it's a great tool to meet people with similar hobbies. Who knew? All but me, apparently, ha.

Celebrate Thanksgiving. This year, I celebrated Thanksgiving at home with my parents, siblings and grandparents. Food, family and cozy autumn weather – what could be better? My contributions this year (Challah stuffing and bacon-roasted Brussels sprouts) were well received, which made me happy.

September lows:

Cancel my trip to Cuba. For reasons beyond my control, I had to cancel my trip to Cuba. But in hindsight, I have mixed feelings about visiting a country under a dictatorship. Maybe it was the best.

A terrible Google update. In November, I posted more blog posts than in recent years. But in a cruel twist of fate, my traffic and income collapsed as Google's search was updated in early November. Goodbye, 30% of my traffic.

Favorite reading of the month

Maybe you should talk to someone by Lori Gottlieb

I devoured this book. This book was written by a therapist about her therapy experiences and provided a fascinating insight into the field of psychotherapy. The writing was also outstanding – I was impressed by how masterfully the author interweaved her story with that of her patients. Highly recommended!

Next:

Park City, Utah – In December I go to Park City for a ski trip. My best friend from high school recently moved to Salt Lake City. I am so happy to meet you too.

Colombia? – I'm also about to pull off on a week-long solo trip to Colombia in March. (Is it crazy to go to Colombia on your own?) If you have any suggestions, please let them know in the comments!

How was your november? I would like to hear about it Your travel plans and all the good books you've read lately.
