Set up a friendsgiving table for Thanksgiving

circle of friends is a pretty name they gave Thanksgiving when they spent with friends instead of family. My family has been making Thanksgiving this way for most of my life! We were a military family, and Mom and Dad always insisted that all the soldiers who had no space left came to our table to celebrate the holidays. It is only a part of us now.

We never lived near a family when we grew up Friendsgiving has always been the norm, In fact, I continued the tradition as I moved out of the house and moved far away from my parents.

For the past 20 years, Thanksgiving has continued with friends (sometimes up to 25 people at our table!) and loved to share Thanksgiving with others every minute. I have always called it "Lost Socks Thanksgiving", but Friendsgiving has a nice sound.

Friendsgiving menu ideas

Well, I know that many of you are always looking good Ideas for a Friendsgiving Menu or Thanksgiving menu ideas, I admit, I'm pretty traditionalist for my family's menu.

I literally make most of the dishes on this list literally once a year. That's what makes her special. Some recipes are already on this page for you and have been linked.

For a complete meal with friends, we usually prepare the following. Hope it gives you some ideas!

Thanksgiving dinner ideas

The Friendsgiving place settings were probably my favorite part of this construction. The placemat, disposable plates (Yes! Disposable plastic plate!) Came out Oriental trade. I put it in my own cutlery, my napkin, my napkin ring and my place card. More about this in a minute.

Another purchase that impressed me a lot Oriental trade were the rose gold champagne glasses. They are so pretty in person and really good quality. I love the texture that the woven golden placemat added to the place setting.

Napkins and napkin rings

Here I did a little bit Friendsgiving DIY! I like nice tables, but I like that they are not that serious. I do not mean it so seriously. (In fact, I have a few stories about donkey heads with butterfly wings and hospital gowns that would completely change the way you saw me.) Really, a laced Thanksgiving is not for me. Even if my table is a bit polished.

I took these napkins with me Cricut SportFlex in gold. I am quite in love with the turkey-slaughterhouse that I put there. It's easy to create them. Upload the SVG file, have it cut and ironed from your cricut.

Download the SVG file to create your own DIY napkins here.

The napkin rings consist of a piece of burlap tape, a high acorn lid and a wooden bead from which I won them Oriental trade.

I had that high hat glans tips in my craft supplies for about two years. I was so happy to finally use it. You can use a felt ball (DIY or bought) or a wooden bead like mine. Just glue the ball or pearl into the glans tip. Then glue the glans on the tape around the napkin.

At the end I glued a little green in the napkin to give it a little more color.

Wooden disc ornament place card

Another favorite piece that I pass on to you as a Friendsgiving idea are these place cards. Get the wooden discs Oriental trade, Put a piece of gold rubber through the hole and you have an ornament! This ornament can also be a place card.

I used my Cricut machine to cut out the names of my guests Sportflex brown to iron on, I then ironed the names on the forest.

Friendsgiving centerpiece ideas

I've really found everything at Oriental Trading for this friendsgiving. They had a large selection of beautiful porcelain statues. Including Tom Turkey here! I took a few sets of wooden straps to add some height to my table and buffet.

These items will be used again and again throughout the year. The investment is worthwhile. Oriental trade I also had nice boxwood garland that I used as a runner down the table. Perfect little pop of texture and color!

Another favorite piece? Without a doubt this Rose gold candle holder, They come in packs of two and give friends a modern flair.

Glittering golden pumpkin voices rounded the table. Just add your own votive! These work until Halloween, so you can benefit from them for two months when you buy them.

Thanksgiving takeout containers

I do not know anything about you, but when I do Thanksgiving I tend to cook for an army. There are leftovers for days. Which is cool because I do not have to cook a bit.

The bad thing about being a guest at a Thanksgiving holiday is that your guests do not have the beautiful days and days leftovers. In the spirit of generosity, remove some leftover containers Oriental trade Send your guests home with you. They too can enjoy another meal of friendsgiving.

I love the gold pie containers that Oriental Trading carries. Of course, I've put together a few packages for her. Print this free printable cake that remains above the label for labeling Cut out and tap on top of the cake favor box.

DIY friendsgiving sign

One of my recent DIY projects Friendsgiving was a rustic wooden sign. This is vinyl glued on wood. I used an empty wooden sign to which I arrived Oriental trade and put the stick on vinyl. I did not use iron here because I'll probably change the shield later and want to be able to remove the vinyl.
