Diana Winston, Diana Winston is the director of Mindfulness Education at the Mindful Awareness Research Center of the Semel Institute at UCLA. She is the author of "The Little Book of Being" and co-author of "Fully Present: The Science, Art and Practice of Mindfulness". Since 1999, she has been teaching awareness of health and well-being in a number of settings, including healthcare, universities, businesses, nonprofits, and schools in the US and internationally, and is the author of several books on the subject. Diana is a member of the Teachers Council at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center and has been meditating since 1989, including one year as a Buddhist nun.
In this episode, Sharon and Diana talk extensively about Diana's new book, "The Little Book of Being," which was published in the spring of 2019. They discuss the natural consciousness and formal meditation practice as well as the nuances of working with a teacher. The podcast ends with Diana conducting a 5-minute guided meditation.
