Do you ever feel like dropping what you are doing and following your dreams? If so, maybe you will inspire today's journey home to take this step! New Zealand-born Sandy McKinley left her marketing career to pursue her passion for flowers as she switched to a reputed and retired florist next door. Shortly thereafter, she opened a flower studio where she founded a successful peony breeding business and crafting events and weddings. When the opportunity arose to buy 1000 old rosebushes, Sandy and partner Rob Roy jumped on it! Rob is originally from Melbourne and is no stranger to flowers. He set about renovating the cozy miner's house with the same stubbornness he used when breaking horses: "Hard work, but unbelievably rewarding to see how raw beauty unleashes its potential." One Morning roses – a micro flower farm and luxurious spa accommodation in Trentham, Victoria, Australia – was born.
The charming miner's house was built in 1860 and renovated keeping the original charm and furnished with the help of an interior designer Belle Hemming-Bright, Think of earthy tones, natural materials and modern comforts like a cedar hot tub, a smoothie bar and a state-of-the-art coffee maker. Sounds like my kind of place! Perhaps it is important to mention that it is also offered for rent Airbnb?! Yes, I know!
The house is full of beautiful vintage finds, portraits and of course fresh flowers! The mixture gives the living room a wonderfully relaxed feeling and must smell divine!
Love the earthy colors in this corner – so pretty! Green is one of my favorite accents – it works especially well in a rural setting, do not you think?
Imagine being roasted under a blanket by this fire?
For your information We could use a blazing fire like this in Malmö today – it's 12 degrees Celsius (53 F!) BRRRR!
I dreamed of fleeing to the California desert earlier this summer, on Monday I dreamed of staying in a Whispering Pines hut, and now a trip to Trentham is fine. I can not imagine a better place to relax, rejuvenate and literally stop and smell the roses!
So many places, so little time!
Could you imagine hanging out at Acre of Roses ?!
Wednesday already, and I feel like I have another week's work. Does anyone feel the same? I could use a calming walk through this rose garden!
Happy humpday friends!
